CHENG YA

Long Men and Chun Yang lineage student

My name is Andrea Moreno, my Daoist name is Cheng Ya (诚雅). I am 36 years old (2021) and about 9 years ago I started a very deep process of transformation, which led me to meet my first Qi Gong teacher 6 years ago, Cheng Mao, an incredible friend who taught me from the heart and helped me greately to reconnect with who I am. Before meeting him I had never heard about Qi Gong or knew much about Daoism. And so I started practicing Qi Gong and exploring other ways and resources to remember why we are here, and from that opening everything started to align for me.

There was a moment in which I knew I had to go to the origin and meet Cheng Mao's teacher in China. And so I did. I went looking for a true guide to reconnect with my Spirit very consciously, and also to heal my body and mind, which due to stress and very deep/strong emotional unbalance were in a terrible state. I was diagnosed with illnesses considered chronic and degenerative in the Western culture, for which I was taking medicine every day. I also had severe disorders that in spite of the myriad of studies conducted were not even diagnosticable, and from which I suffered greately.

In June 2017 I went to the Five Immortals Temple (A Daoist temple located in the sacred Mountains of Wudang, in Central China), to heal and study Qi Gong, Meditation, Tai Ji, Internal Alchemy and Daoist Medicine. I stayed in the temple for 6 months, studying and practicing with hard effort, living the most profound and picturesque healing process that I could have ever imagined, hand in hand with whom is now also my Great Teacher: Du Song Feng (Li Shifu), to whom I am immensely grateful.

After an experience hard to describe with words, I came back home healed of everything, without the need of taking medicine, with my mind and my heart more open than ever, with an enormous baggage of knowledge, and a great new family (my teacher, his teachers and his disciples and students). The return has not been easy, but I am starting to find balance. What motivates me is to share what helped me heal. In addition to teaching, I continue to practice diligently myself.

There have been deep processes and experiences over time that have substantially changed my  understanding of my own healing process - and healing in general- compared to how I used to understand it when I just came back from the temple.

I do not consider myself to be a Daoist (or any other label), as I believe in the power and purity of different paths and their tools, many of which share a very similar foundation. I embrace some of these tools myself for my own healing and awakening. For example, A Course in Miracles has changed my life completely, having started practicing it after my experience in the temple. The Course in Miracles has put into words my healing experience and is taking me much deeper into a process that has just begun for me.

I believe in the need of discipline and of having a real teacher, and the difference it makes to truly put into practice just a few tools, instead of trying many of them superficially. Sometimes, as you practice and live mystical experiences, it can be challenging to understand and manage what you find and feel- here the teacher comes in, and this is why Li Shifu has had a great impact in my life. To trully understand these practices and have results, you must have a real, honest and heart-felt steady practice, that is why Qi Gong, Tai Ji Quan and meditation are called disciplines.

These tools, and many others you may or will encounter, are means to achieve a higher purpose, to help you walk your path with strength and clarity, to help you recognize who you truly are. Walking the path requires to do precisely that: to walk, each step, very consciusly. After my healing experience, I choose to walk slowly but determined. That is how I live these tools, and that is how I share them, as I go myself.

I am not a guru or substitutes, and I do not pretend to be so. I am a very fortunate person, that decided to look for an authentic teacher and had the great destiny to find more than one, willing to listen to myself carefully and work accordingly, still in process of doing so. I can and must humbly share the tools I learnt in the temple and during my life to work on myself- which have a direct and unquestionable effect in everything around me.

This site, the classes and courses I offer, are not about me, I am only a bridge. It is about you, about the tools and the wisdom at your reach. I offer to share a path, a vision, teachings with a pure and sacred origin, an ancient lineage and proven results. I share my experience to demonstrate that you do not need to be an expert to practice and have a real benefit.

I truly enjoy teaching. During my classes I've seen my students cry, tremble, sweat, overcome frustration, anger, anxiety, negative thoughts, laugh, find light, power and peace...It's a wonderful feeling to see how their energy changes, how the light in their eyes is transformed, in and outside the class...I know from many of them that practicing has opened a special door, the door of wisdom (as Li Shifu would say), and that is theirs and my gift. My role is just to show the way, to walk the path is theirs.

My interest and purpose is to teach to empower oneself and remember who we are, to learn from my students (my teachers), to continue my own process of cultivation and continue sharing as I learn myself walking my path...Only the Dao knows what is there for me in the future, for now I am anchored in the certainty of the present moment.

The offering is made, from my heart.
